Ginny's Story |
I was a successful researcher at London University when I suddenly started suffering from panic attacks on the London Tube (London Underground). They became gradually worse until I was unable to travel on the Tube to get to work. Life became extremely difficult. No-one appeared to understand what I was going through and I felt weak, helpless and frightened. My rational mind knew there was no reason to panic on the Tube. But the fear of having an attack always won over. The doctor could not help me understand or change my behaviour and offered me medication. I felt the doctor wanted me to pull myself together.
I had heard about NLP so I researched into this area and became fascinated with the brain and how a person can change behaviour patterns; I then made the decision to see a Hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner. The sessions were gentle and the therapist understanding. He explained what was happening when I did have an attack and provided me with various tools I could use to stop them. After only two sessions I was travelling on the Tube again. The sessions gave me my life back. It was incredible that changes could be make so easily and quickly. After the second session, I decided to become a practitioner. I believe my experience has given me a greater understanding and empathy towards other people who have suffered from similar issues. In time I became a mother and started to use my NLP and hypnosis skills with my children and this led me to develop a very successful bedwetting (Stay Dry at Night) and Calm to Sleep program for children. A few years later I came across Integral Eye Movement Therapy and I was amazed at how rapidly it could help people and without them having to painfully recount their story in any depth. It is different to any other therapy I have used, and the effects are outstanding and lasting. I'm proud to announce that I am the first person in Australia to become qualified in this amazing technique. |
