Grief

Grief is something we all experience at some point in our lives.  Many people who have suffered a significant loss cherish the time that they had with the person, their qualities, the memories, that person's values or teachings and so on.  They can sometimes feel their presence and value those feelings.  However, people can grieve very differently and it can bring up all sorts of emotions including those that we don't expect, such as a feeling of abandonment, guilt or resentment for the person who has died.  Some people might push the grief aside and try to avoid dealing with it, others may live the grief daily and never get past it.

Remembering the trauma at the time of death can also get in the way of grieving or remembering the good times.  In addition, the support a grieving person receives can vary as people often don't know what to say or do.

Ginny Laver helps people to to move on with their grief, to celebrate the life of that person through a profoundly deep and beautiful process.  If the death was traumatic, she uses a variety of techniques to deal with the traumatic memories. Then if appropriate she will replace those memories with times that person valued and wants to remember.  The resulting feeling is a connection and gratitude for the life of that person.  It is not a feeling of resignation but a connection to the special things that person brought to their life and that they can take into the future.

Ginny typically sees people for one or two sessions to make significant changes with unresolved grief.
